Your landlord’s policy covers the building, not your things. A renters policy (HO-4) pays to replace belongings after a fire, theft or burst pipe, covers your liability and pays for a hotel if the unit cannot be lived in.
Condo owners need an HO-6: belongings and liability plus the interior of the unit, such as floors, cabinets and fixtures, as defined in your association’s master policy. We read the master policy before we quote.
Belongings limits from $20,000
